Ukulele Groups, Clubs, Sessions and Classes in the North East and Cumbria

2015-10-23 NEukersMap

If you have been along to The Cumberland Arms on a Thursday between 6:00 and 8:00 then you will know that we are sometimes bursting at the seams! To help spread the uke-lurve more widely, I invited all the other uke groups, clubs, sessions and classes in the North East and East Cumbria to pool information about uke-meets.  Clubs from even further afield have since added details to the list, eg. Cockermouth and Scarborough!

  • If you spot anything that needs updating, please leave a comment below this post and I will update the spreadsheet.

Map of Ukulele Clubs, Sessions, etc.

  • Warning: The map depends on an app to read the spreadsheet – and me remembering to “rebuild” the map every time a new entry is added to the spreadsheet.  If a club on the list below does not appear on the map, please see the spreadsheet for details!

  7. Hi Lizzie
I have been learning the Uke for about 6 months but am looking to join a group. Are there any bands in the Whitley Bay/ Monkseaton area of North Tyneside that you know of that are looking for new members?
    Regards Darren

    • Many apologies for the delay replying, Darren! There are a few things going on in the Whitley Bay/ Monkseaton area of North Tyneside area but I don’t know if any of the bands are looking for new members. If you are on Facebook, the best place to ask would be in the Ukers North East Group:

If you are not on Facebook, do let me know and I will ask over there and ask if people could reply to you here.

      Best wishes,

  8. Change of meet day from Sunday to Thursday 6-30 to 9-00, same venue.

  14. Hi
I have a friend who is part of the silver programme at the Sage Gateshead. She hasd been learning the ukelele in a group for about a year. She has a wonderful time and reallyu enjoys herself. I would love to belong to such a group but I live in Thornaby on Tees, Is there any such group near whereI live or could any of your contacts be persuaded to start one. I would be so grateful to hear from you. Thank you in anticipation.
    Ann Garrard
