http://www.facebook.com/groups/UkersNorthEast/

Once you join the Group you can also participate by email to:

UkersNorthEast@groups.facebook.com

UPDATE: 26 May 2014

  • Added daft cover photo today
  • The url remains the same but not long ago we added “and Cumbria” to the name of the Group – because there are members in Cumbria too.

Best wishes,

Lizzie

May 2015: A well-established group welcoming new members!

Charlie Lally has moved south of the Tyne and is setting up a new uke club in Sunderland, “Steamin’ Ukes“.

The Wild Ukes is still going strong and members are sorting out new roles.  Mick Bell has kindly offered to be the new first-point-of-contact (see spreadsheet link above).

More updates to be added as and when they come in!

Mick says:

“The group is currently rehearsing along with Morpeth’s “Uke in Style” and Wooler’s “Angel Delights” for a “Northumberlele Trio” concert to be held in Rothbury in June – we are all delighted to welcome Charlie back to take the helm and lead us again for this event.”

News Archive:

Oct 2011: A growing group welcoming new members!

Targetted at mainly local people (Newbiggin/Ashington/Bedlington/Morpeth) – usually has between 3 and 8 attending depending on other commitments – mainly beginners so far.

Songsheets via email to attending ukers.

The pub has access to some Mahalo ukes for complete beginners without an instrument to use on the night.

Whickham Tune Army Ukulele Club – new venue!

Update: Tune Army disbanded on 10 Sept 2018

Tune Army Ukulele Club is now meeting in the upstairs function room in Ye Olde Lang Jack pub in Whickham:

Ye Olde Lang Jack
48-50 Front St
Newcastle upon Tyne,
Tyne And Wear
NE16 4DT
0191 488 1567

Many thanks to “Tune Army Jeff” for this update:

For those of you who are unfamiliar with the pub, it is at the traffic lights on the left if you are coming from Swalwell direction.

There are no parking facilities but you should be able to park in the council office car park (next to the Bay Horse, boo hiss!) or behind the shops. It is only a matter of yards away.

After much begging and pleading, the Manageress has kindly let us have the room for free, which is very good of her.
As usual, it will be the first monday of the month (except bank holidays) at the usual time.
For up to date information always check the Tune Army Ukulele Club website:  http://tunearmy.blogspot.com/ (Archived blog: Tune Army disbanded 10 Sept 2018)
